PMC3
PMC3
fires at an even lower temperature (1290 F) which not only allows
implants (sterling findings, glass) but means alternative,
low tech firing devices become possible.
Scientists at the Mitsubishi
laboratory in Japan have developed a material they call PMC3. It is
similar to PMC+ in consistency, shrinkage and strength. The primary
difference is in its firing temperature which is significantly lower than
the other versions. PMC3 can be fired at three time/temp settings: 10 minutes at 1290 F (700 C) 20 minutes at 1200 F (650 C) 30 minutes at 1110 F (600 C.)

PMC
original
PMC original is a much larger lump of clay than
PMC+, however
it's fired weight is almost the same (1oz.).
It is soft and buttery to work with. Shrinks 29%, fires to .999
fine silver. Fire to 1650 hold for 2 hours. You must have a kiln
to fire this. What is cool is that all the detail in your
work is shrunk down-to a more detailed level of imagery.

Aura 22 A New Idea
in Gold Embellishment Concept
Tiny particles of pure gold (91.6%) are blended with 8.4% fine
silver particles to create a precious metal with deep yellow color
and the ability to fuse to silver at relatively low temperatures.
The result is a layer of gold that is considerably thicker than
possible with electroplating.

PMC Sterling™ 25 Grams combines microscopic particles of
metals in the precise proportions of 92.5% silver with
7.5% copper—the same proportions as traditional sterling.
The metal powders are mixed with water and a nontoxic
binder to create a material that can be worked as easily
as modeling clay. Objects can be made with simple tools,
then they are dried and sometimes refined further. The
pieces are then taken through a two-step firing process
that drives off the water, burns away the binder, and
fuses the particles into solid metal. The result has
properties very similar to cast sterling silver. It can be
polished, soldered, and patented just like any other
precious metal

steel firing pan, embedded in coconut shell–based activated
carbon (make sure you have about 1/2" of carbon surrounding
each piece; avoid using too much carbon, as this will reduce
the temperature inside the container). For one or two small
pieces, it is possible to fire at the same temperature and
reduce the firing time to 30 minutes. For larger pieces and
full loads, fire at the same temperature for 2 hours.

Creative Metal Clay Jewelry
By Cece Wire Creative Metal Clay Jewelry Use silver or gold metal clay to make
extraordinary jewelry; it's a material that looks and feels
like clay and yet, when fired, it becomes pure, precious
metal. Model it, give it texture, shape it, and fire it as
you would any other clay. Once it's transformed into metal,
it can be buffed, burnished, polished, enameled, or
patinated. Virtually anything you can create with
traditional fine silver or pure gold, you can craft with
metal clay, and so it's the perfect material for
jewelry-making. As with any art medium, find out the basic
techniques and the tools you'll need before starting one of
the projects.
Fancy Lacy Pearl earrings show how beautiful a mirror finish
looks against unfinished, fired metal clay. The delicate
silver tracery on the dangling disks is elegant, while the
pearl drops make the earrings extra dressy. The smallest
ripple in silver's smooth surface creates great organic
texture, as seen in the pattern of piercings in the Pin Dots
